The Kalayaan Cultural Community Centre is presenting another Filipino talent, Ms. Chiqui Pineda in a concert, “Putting It Together” at 5:00PM Sunday, February 27th, 2011 at the Kalayaan Centre Grand Hall in Mississauga.

Multi-talented and multi-faceted are merely a few ways to describe Chiqui Pineda. She is well known back home in the Philippines when her firs…t single “How Did You Know”, from her self-titled album under Viva records received a Gold Record Award in 1994. She has co-hosted TV shows like “Chibugan Na” (with Rico J. Puno and Hajji Alejandro) and “Talk of the Town” (with Eddie Mercado and Willi Cruz). She also portrayed Sita in the Musical Theatre production of “Rama and Sita” enabling people to see her wonderful talent on stage. As in the words of Jose Mari Chan from his letter to Ms. Pineda, Chiqui is “truly an example of Filipino’s world class artistry”. Ms. Pineda is also a freelance writer, photographer and owner of KatShots Photography which focuses on lifestyle, natural-light family and children’s photography.
“Putting It Together” will feature Chiqui doing her own hits from the 90’s, excerpts from the musical `Rama and Sita’ and other beloved classics from Broadway musicals. A surprise set of classical arias will also be featured, a first for Ms. Pineda, along with her photography and artwork. Featured guest for this event is one of Toronto’s beloved tenors, Mr. Leander Mendoza who will also be the Musical Director.
Special guests Josephine Roces and Bong Chavez will also add luster to this event. All in all, a heart-warming musical and visual journey through the years and a much-anticipated return to the stage of our very own Kalayaan Centre Grand Hall.
