A Philippine indie movie “If I Knew What You Said” (Dinig Sana Kita) will be shown during the Toronto International Film Festival – September 10-19, 2009.

The writer, director and producer of the movie is Mike Escareal Sandejas.
The movie stars a hearing-impaired actor (Romalito Mallari), a first in Philippine movie history. Romalito is a scholar at De La Salle-College of St. Benilde taking up a degree in Bachelor of Applied Deaf Studies with a specialization in Multimedia Arts under the School for Deaf Education and Applied studies (SDEAS).
It also stars deaf actors in supporting roles and has English subtitles .
The movie won the Audience Choice Award, the National Council for Children Award and the Best Original Musical Score Award during the 2009 Cinemelaya Filmfest in Manila.
